In 1939, Alfred Konrad founded a manufacturing company for machining and apparatus engineering in Bochum, which produced, among other things, conveyor belts and wheel discs for rail transport.
As a contract manufacturer, the young company benefited from the upswing of the economic miracle years after the end of the war. With the development of high-quality industrial valves, the company launched its own product on the market at the end of the 1960s, thus laying the foundation for steady growth in the following decades.
